3. Our Role: A Licensed Agency, Not an Insurance Company

WhiskerCover is not an insurance company and does not issue or underwrite pet insurance policies, decide eligibility, set premiums, or pay claims.

WhiskerCover LLC is a licensed property & casualty insurance agency in 17 states (NPN 22114366). Its resident state is Florida, where it holds a 2105 - Licensed Insurance Agency license (License # L134842); it holds non-resident licenses in 16 additional states. Founder Alexey Dantsev is a licensed property & casualty insurance producer in the same 17 states (NPN 22083543; Florida 0220 - General Lines Insurance Agent, License # G301587). Those licenses are what allow us to operate our quote and comparison tool, where you can get quotes from participating insurers, compare plan benefits, and apply for a policy. When you use it, we act as a licensed insurance producer working with the insurers whose plans we show, and we are paid by the insurer as described in Section 5. Insurance is offered through the Site only in states where we are licensed.

Our articles are different. Unless explicitly stated otherwise, they are general education, and:

• Reading them does not create an insurance producer-client relationship
• We are not acting as your financial advisor or attorney
• We do not provide personalized advice tailored to your specific financial, legal, or insurance situation

Before purchasing any pet insurance policy or making financial or legal decisions, you should:

• Review the official policy documents and disclosures from the insurance company
• Ask questions of the insurer or of us as your licensed agency
• Consider speaking with a qualified financial or legal professional if needed

Any coverage decisions, premiums, exclusions, and claim outcomes are determined solely by the insurance company, not by WhiskerCover.

• Does not guarantee or warrant the quality, pricing, availability, suitability, or performance of any third-party product or service

If you choose to interact with or purchase from third parties, you do so at your own risk and subject to their terms and policies. An insurance policy you buy, whether through our quote tool or an insurer's own website, is a contract between you and the insurer.

5. Compensation Disclosure – How WhiskerCover Makes Money

WhiskerCover is free to use. We do not charge you any fee. We are paid in two ways:

5.1 Insurance commissions

When you apply for a policy through our quote and comparison tool and the insurer issues it, the insurer pays WhiskerCover a commission. In that transaction:

• WhiskerCover acts as a licensed insurance agency (insurance producer) working with the insurer. We present quotes and submit your application; the insurer decides whether to issue the policy.
• Our compensation is paid by the insurer and is based on the insurance policy we sell, typically as a percentage of the premium. We may continue to receive it while the policy remains in force, including on renewals.
• The compensation we receive may vary depending on a number of factors, including the insurer and the policy you select and, in some cases, the volume or profitability of the business we place with an insurer.
• You may obtain information about the compensation we expect to receive from the sale of your policy, and from any alternative quotes we presented, by asking us at support@whiskercover.com.
• Our tool shows plans only from insurers we have an agreement with. It does not include every insurer or plan on the market.

5.2 Affiliate links

Some of the links in our articles are affiliate links or part of paid partnerships. When you click on those links and visit a pet insurance company's website or purchase a product or service from a partner, we may receive a commission, referral fee, or other form of compensation.

5.3 What is true of both

• We never add a fee or markup. Premiums are set by the insurer using rates filed with state insurance regulators.
• We do not sell your personal information for money. Our Privacy Policy explains the Google advertising cookies we use and how to turn them off.
• We send your information to an insurer only to get the quotes or submit the application you asked for, as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not share your email or other personal details with insurers for their own marketing purposes.

We want to be transparent that we have a financial interest when you buy a policy through us or through one of our links. At the same time:

• We aim to present information that is honest, clear, and useful, and
• We do not allow insurers or partners to dictate our editorial opinions, buy a position in our quote results, or guarantee positive coverage.

6. Editorial Independence

We take editorial independence seriously. To help keep things fair and useful:

• Our content is created with the aim of explaining how pet insurance works, comparing plan features, and highlighting trade-offs.
• Money earned from commissions and affiliate relationships keeps the Site free for you to use, but it does not give insurers or partners control over our articles, ratings, or the order of our quote results.
• We review and compare companies whether or not we can sell their plans or earn anything from them.
• If a product or policy has meaningful limitations or drawbacks, we strive to call those out clearly.

However, the Site may not cover every product or offer in the market, and new products or changes can happen at any time.

7. Quotes, Plan Summaries, and No Guarantee of Results

Quotes shown on the Site are generated from the information you enter and the rates and rules supplied by the insurer. A quote is not a contract or a guarantee of coverage or price, and coverage begins only when the insurer accepts your application and issues a policy. Plan summaries, comparison tables, scores, and claim examples are simplified to help you compare; if they differ from your policy documents, the policy documents govern.

Any examples, scenarios, or case studies on the Site are illustrative only.

We cannot guarantee that:

• You will be approved for any particular policy
• You will receive any particular premium, coverage, or claim outcome
• A policy that worked well for one person or pet will work the same way for you

Your experience will depend on your pet, your location, the insurer, underwriting decisions, and other factors beyond our control.
